Teaching

Lessons are available in 3 time groupings, 30 minutes (£30), 45 minutes (£40) or an hour (£50).

Lessons can be taught face-to-face or for Distance Learners, over Skype or other online modes of communication (a good set of earphones with a mic attachment is always a great idea when doing a SKYPE lesson.  These can be purchased for under £20 on the high street).

PLEASE NOTE that I operate a 24 hour cancellation policy.  Any lesson that is cancelled within 24 hours of the lesson start time and date will be charged at the full rate.  I will always try to reschedule the lesson within the same week if at all possible.

Hour long lessons will comprise roughly of 50 minutes of teaching, with a ten minute summary/discussion.  Half an hour lessons/45 minutes lessons will comprise roughly of 25/40 minutes of teaching, with a 5 minute summary/discussion.

Studies show that a student may only retain up to 20% of the information from a one-to-one lesson, so for this reason all lessons are recorded digitally onto CD, or directly onto your iPod if you prefer.  If you have a dictophone or other recording device such as a phone that you would prefer the lesson to be recording onto, then please bring it to the lesson.

It’s always helpful to be working on a song/songs and to bring these regularly to the lesson.  If you regularly use an instrument such as a guitar to accompany yourself, then it’s helpful to bring that along to your lesson as well.

Remember that it’s your lesson and therefore you need to be prepared to get the most out of the time.  Always be prepared for your lesson and make sure that you’ve practiced along with the previous lesson’s CD.
